The new entry-level NAS from Synology supports two hard drives and features an 800MHz processor, USB 2.0, 256MB RAM, low power consumption, and wireless dongle support. It runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM) and is compatible with a wide range of existing apps.

It offers RAID 0/1, allows connection of three USB devices such as hard disks, memory sticks, WLAN dongles, or printers, and includes a UPnP/DLNA multimedia server, surveillance station for network cameras, integrated web server with PHP and MySQL, iTunes server, and supports BitTorrent, FTP, and HTTP downloads without the need for a PC. Please note that video transcoding is not possible.
