Flat serial, native RS232 PCI Express card with 1 port and 16550 UART. The serial PCI Express card PEX1S553LP converts a PCI Express slot into an RS232 interface (DB9). The serial card is based on a native single-chip design that fully utilizes the capacity of PCI Express (PCIe) and reduces the load on the CPU by up to 48% compared to conventional serial cards. A high-speed serial RS232 port with a data transfer rate of up to 460.8 kbit/s is provided with a half-height/flat mounting bracket, including a standard bracket. Selectable output power on pin 9 for the serial connection. Compliant with the base specifications for PCI Express, Revision 1.1a. Automated out-of-band flow control using CT/RTS and DSR/DTR. Automated in-band software flow control using programmable Xon/Xoff in both directions. 128-byte deep FIFO per transmitter and receiver. The PCI Express RS232 serial adapter card is compatible with a variety of operating systems, including Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 (32 and 64 bit) as well as Linux Kernel 2.6.11 and higher.
