Product details

The SMP-N200 can play JPEG images, music in WMA, MP3, AAC-LC, and LPCM formats, as well as MPEG-1 and MPEG-4 files (Simple Profile). It also supports DivX and Xvid videos.

Additionally, many video-on-demand and streaming services can be accessed. Besides YouTube, Tagesschau, and some other free services, there are also paid audio and video-on-demand services from Sony, which will be collectively branded as "Sony Entertainment Network" in the future.

Wenn es um Netzwerkfunktionalität und Internet geht, macht der Sony SMP-N200 einen prima Eindruck. Schaut man sich jedoch die Ausstattung an, dann muss man hier mit einer spartanischen Auswahl zufrieden sein, wobei ebenso die Formatunterstützung nicht sonderlich gehoben ist.

Der Sony ist leicht zu bedienen, stellt aber eine eingeschränkte Formatauswahl zur Verfügung. Allerdings können 3D-Fans auf ein Sony-Portal mit allerlei Filmen zugreifen. Überzeugend ist die Audioqualität bei 44 kHz.

…Nach wie vor bietet Sony nur einen einzigen USB-Anschluss an der rechten Geräteseite - ein zusätzlicher rückwärtiger Host-Anschluss zum dauerhaften Verbinden einer Festplatte wäre wünschenswert. Die Auswahl an Online-Diensten ist klein, aber fein. Mit Mubi, LoveFilm und Sonys eigenem Video Unlimited stehen gleich drei VoD-Dienste bereit.

Sonys SMP-N 200 ist ein einfach und flott zu bedienender Mediaplayer für Leute, die einen Flachbildfernseher oder Blu-ray-Player ohne Smart-TV-Funktion haben. Schade nur, dass sich die Zahl der abspielbaren Formate in Grenzen hält.

…Leider gibt die die SMP-N200 sämtliche Quellen mit 60 Bilder pro Sekunde wieder, was manchmal zu leichten Rucklern führt.
