The Slice 10563 utility knife with a plier grip and automatic blade retraction offers not only the familiar safety of our finger-friendly tools but also the ease of use of a plier-style knife, where the handle is squeezed (like a pair of pliers) to expose the blade. This type of grip is particularly practical when working with gloves; a quick squeeze and your blade is ready for action. Thanks to the safety mechanism, accidental blade deployment is prevented when the knife is not in use. Blade changes are simple and require no additional tools, just the push of a button. Slice blades last up to 11 times longer than metal blades. If the edge does become dull, simply rotate the blade lengthwise to use the second cutting edge, giving you a fresh blade with another 11 times the cutting performance. The 10563 comes with a pre-installed 10526 utility knife blade, which has rounded tips for added safety. Optionally available are the 10528 pointed blades, which are better suited for tasks that require piercing the material before making a cut. Slice blades are safe to the touch, free of oil and grease, and do not rust. The handle of this tool is made from durable fiberglass-reinforced nylon and is designed for industrial use.
