Requirement for conclusion: the current version of the SIMATIC STEP 7 Safety software (TIA Portal) is the option for seamless integration of fail-safe safety applications on SIMATIC controllers, which also implements the standard application. It includes all project and programming tools necessary for creating a safety-related program, seamlessly integrated into the STEP 7 user interface and consistently marked as safety-relevant resources. No additional engineering know-how is required, as programming takes place in the familiar STEP 7 environment. For creating the safety program, the programming languages FUP (Function Block Diagram) and KOP (Ladder Diagram) are available, along with integrated libraries containing TÜV-certified function blocks. The library concept supports internal standardization and simplifies the validation of safety-related applications.
