The internal storage is a 240 GB Solid-State Drive SATA, and it does not include SIMATIC software. It operates on a 24V DC industrial power supply.

The SIMATIC IPC427E is a powerful embedded IPC that is maintenance-free and flexibly configurable. It provides machine, plant, and control cabinet builders with a robust, compact, and ready-to-use PC platform for machine and process-related applications in industrial environments.

Its application range extends from fully integrated automation computers within TIA to C/C++-based automation solutions and standalone applications in general IT use. For software products requiring Windows 7 Ultimate, a pre-installed combination of Windows 7 Ultimate on HDD or SSD is available.

The SIMATIC IPC427E carries the CE mark for use in industrial, residential, commercial, and business environments, making it suitable for building automation or public facilities. The device also has the essential shipbuilding approvals.

Thanks to its fanless design and the use of SIMATIC PC CFast storage or SSDs, it operates without any moving parts, thereby increasing system availability. SIMATIC PCs can be ordered in conjunction with WinCC SCADA or WinCC (Advanced, Professional) as SIMATIC HMI Packages at a price advantage.
