Product details
Schneider Electric Wiser Smoke Alarm - wireless smoke detector. The Wiser smoke detector uses a light-based sensor to detect smoke caused by a fire. It also includes a temperature sensor that detects heat due to a rapid rise in temperature. If the alarm is connected to the Wiser system, it sends notifications directly to your phone via the Wiser app.
The optical Wiser smart smoke detector brings smart safety to your smart home. The smoke detector recognizes both smoke and sudden temperature rises and alerts with an audible signal as well as sends a notification to a mobile phone. Using the Wiser app, the smoke detector can be connected to home automation, allowing, for example, power outlets to be automatically turned off in the event of a fire or all home cameras to be set to record events to the memory card. The Wiser app also reminds you to test the operation of the smoke detector at regular intervals.
You can check the device's status through the clear LED light, and if you want to silence the device temporarily (10 minutes), this can be easily done by pressing the front of the device briefly. The smoke detector can also be used without the Wiser app, operating like a traditional smoke detector. It is also possible to link it to other Wiser smoke detectors, providing alerts throughout the flat if smoke or a sudden temperature rise is detected in any room. The linking does not require the central unit of the Wiser smart home system to function.
Included is a ceiling/wall mounting plate, screws, and a user manual. The device can be installed on flat ceilings, slanted ceilings, or walls. The smoke detector has a built-in battery with a lifespan of about 10 years. The battery is non-replaceable.
If the smoke detector is to be used with the Wiser system, it must be equipped with a Wiser smart home system central unit. The central unit also provides support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant virtual assistants.
