Product details
The RAF 3a-powered DH.4 was a modified version of the famous British aircraft of WWI, developed in 1916 by the well-known designer Geoffrey de Havilland. Its main difference was the RAF 3a engine installation, which improved the aircraft's high-altitude performance. This led to the use of the RAF 3a DH.4 in squadrons tasked with high-altitude photo reconnaissance and interception of enemy airships (Zeppelins). Due to the unreliable operation of the engine and its design flaws, the RAF 3a DH.4 was built in much smaller quantities than other versions of the aircraft.
