The Red Bull RB8 is the third evolution of the RB5, developed by Adrian Newey. The RS27-2012 engine was constructed by Renault, the transmission is a custom design, and the tires were supplied by Pirelli. The nose bump mandated by regulations gave the car a distinctive appearance, but did not diminish its performance. Mark Webber utilized the qualities of the RB8 to achieve two victories, one second place, and one third place. He started from pole position twice and finished the 2012 season in 6th place in the driver standings. Along with Sebastian Vettel's successes, Red Bull Racing won the Constructors' Championship for the third consecutive time.
