Product details
The Bismarck, the flagship of the German Navy, was, alongside the Tirpitz, the largest German warship, with a displacement of 50,900 tons and a crew of 2,092 men. Commissioned on August 24, 1940, it set sail for Operation Rheinübung on May 18, 1941. However, it was early detected by British aerial reconnaissance along with the Prinz Eugen. During its encounter with the Hood, the Bismarck sank it on May 24, 1941. After a long pursuit, it was hit by a torpedo from an aircraft on May 26, 1941, and was cornered by the British battleships King George V and H.M.S. Rodney. On May 27, the crew scuttled the Bismarck 490 km off the French coast. Waterline hull. Detailed deck. Turrets. Cranes. Authentic paint scheme.
