Product details

The Corsair is considered one of the best fighter planes of the US Navy during World War II. Feared by Japanese enemies, who nicknamed it "whispering death," it fought in the Pacific War from 1943 to 1945 and achieved record-breaking successes. The Corsair's concentrated firepower consisted of six 12.7 mm Browning machine guns. This new model features a refined shape, structured surfaces with recessed panel joints, and a detailed R-2800 twin-row radial engine. The cooling slot ring can be optionally closed or opened and includes a detailed cockpit with an instrument panel, two auxiliary fuel tanks, a movable propeller, and a detailed landing gear. It authentically represents the following versions: Vought F4U-1A Corsair, VMF-214 Squadron, U.S. Marine Corps, Vella Lavella, Solomon Islands, December 1943, and Vought F4U-1A Corsair, VF-17 Squadron, U.S. Navy, Bougainville, Solomon Islands, February 1944.
