TP-Link Tl-Wr841n
For professional reasons, I regularly have to deal with countless routers from the most diverse manufacturers. But this thing really 'shocked' me in a positive way.
I have rarely experienced such a problem-free configuration right away. Almost a dream.
The web interface runs fast and without problems, is clearly structured, implements changes quickly and has an above-average range of functions. And all this at an almost ridiculously low price.
The "established" brands with their often half-baked to horrible firmwares can take a leaf out of this book!
I have seen many routers that cost many times as much and were not nearly as usable.

I am using it temporarily as a router to set up a network for a customer. The device meets all requirements and is particularly convincing with its fast web interface. I am used to slower web interfaces from many devices and was pleasantly surprised. I can't give any information about the WLAN range, as I only use it locally and haven't tested a large range. However, with two antennas that can be aligned, this should also work.

Been using this little thing for ~2 months now and it works and does what it's supposed to.
the firmware looks ok, but I put openwrt on it right from the start, which allows me to run an open guest network.
in addition, the power consumption in normal operation is 1.5 watts - which seems at least to me extraordinarily good.
it's logically not a great box to run a bunch of other stuff like mesh and torknoten or something, because it just has too little cpu and too little disk space but all in all a great thing.
the only negative is - the power supply whistles. like cheap usb charging power supplies sometimes do. cats (and other animals) probably don't like it at all and if i had to sleep in the same room i would replace it too. (which would be relatively expensive) but since it's located in the passageway, it doesn't bother me, fortunately.

My old router from Netgear suddenly gave up the ghost. And without an internet connection, the PC can't be used for much these days. Many programmes want to connect before they can be started. So I had to have a new router as soon as possible.
Even after researching for a while, I didn't realise why I should buy a WLAN router with what felt like 50 antennas and a theoretical transfer rate of 500MBit for over CHF 100. That's why I decided on this device, which meets all my requirements and is surprisingly cheap. I connected the router at home and it works perfectly. The WLAN also works perfectly. I am satisfied with the device even after several weeks of use.
A great router for this price, the range is outstanding. My smartphone can connect to the network several metres away from the house. The transmission rate is more than satisfactory. Both online gaming and streaming work smoothly.

Everything is fine, how can you do that at this price?

We installed this wifi router to boost our wifi in the basement. Can also be used on its own. Just great!

Perfect if you need a simple access point to distribute wifi from an ethernet cable.
Perfect if you want a simple repeater to extend the wifi of a router. However, you should be aware that a device that connects to your repeater will not have the same MAC address as one that connects directly to the router, which will cause serious problems if you want to assign static IPs to some of your devices (in this case, use access point mode instead).
In router mode, however, things take a turn for the worse.
The DHCP server correctly allocates IP addresses to my IP cameras (on esp32). But the cameras are not displayed in the list of connected clients (which makes it difficult to identify connection problems when there are any). Another big problem: the image stream is interrupted at least 10% of the time (1 sec of lag every 10 sec). This problem only occurs in router mode. In access point mode there is no lag.

It doesn't crash, it's fast enough for what I want to do (remote control of a mixer), the range is OK and the price is super low.

I use it as a lan to wifi extender, works perfectly and was super easy to set up

I bought this router for testing purposes so I chose the cheapest one.
My need was to test a wingo fibre connection with the TP-Link MC220L media converter,
My Synology MR2200ac router refused to connect to it.
This 20.- router allowed me to connect in 5 minutes, while I was struggling with my MR2200ac for hours. Synology support is on the case.
I will keep this little router for troubleshooting and to be able to test with DD-WRT :-)
Bravo TP-Link, great product.

For the price works very well. I use it in a bedroom because the Wi-Fi from the central box did not extend into the bedroom. I plugged in an rj45 from the living room and it allows me to extend my Wi-Fi and to plug in 2-3 other rj45

I purchased this router for the purpose of expanding an existing home network.
The house network was originally on a dedicated router (supplied by the Internet provider), and on this the setting options were very limited, and the changes very tedious. With the TL-WR841N, I created my "own" network (LAN & W-LAN) as a subnet of the provider network. Went everything pretty fast and without problems.
I completed the extension of this own subnet to the remotest corners of the two-story multistory building with the TL-WPA4220T KIT (Power-Line Ethernet) from the same manufacturer.

Although VPN is supposed to be supported, when you try to configure you find out that only unencrypted VPN connections are supported.
Top for the price.

The part comes quite cheap and has no off button.
But hey, it does what it should and at a top price.
Therefore, full points from me.
I use it for a guest WLAN. Switching on and off just with power supply cable :-).
