TP-Link for all
I have installed TP-Link Decos at parents, in-laws and holiday home. New this new model X20. Just brilliant how easy and stable these things run! Had previously tested Orbi and others. Can't beat them for stability, range and simplicity.

Wide range
Within the range of a Deco X20's, reception is GREAT. Router + Satelitte has completely solved my WiFi coverage problem in the house.

Three for less than one
I wanted to replace my single access point with a mesh network to get a better connection in some rooms of the house.
The network decides by itself which source each satellite connects to. It necessarily chose to connect the satellite in the furthest room to the main source. which didn't improve the connection and didn't change anything compared to my previous configuration where my connected objects in this room were connected to the only access point. Surprisingly though, the connection was less stable with these new AI-powered technologies.
In order to hack this, I tried many tricks to force the mesh to connect in a different way. What finally worked was to temporarily attenuate the main component's network (by insulating it with tinfoil) when adding the second satellite. All these efforts led to an inconclusive result, as the network was not drastically improved in the remote rooms.
3 times more components, consumption for a non-existent improvement. This is a bad deal.
Add to that the hyper limited application in parameters, the impossibility to select the fixed ip you want to assign, the obligation to use a mobile app (which inevitably wants to access data).
Back to the sender and goodbye TP-Link. I was a delighted user for 20 years. It's time I discovered your competitors' products.Contra

Super simple MESH WLAN
I am a total fan of the Deco Mesh sets. The X20 is also super easy to set up. New nodes of the same type are automatically included. The performance is great. Sure, there are only a few settings, but even I as an IT specialist am happy that it just works without big tam. LAN backhaul was detected cleanly. It's worlds easier and more stable than the NetGear Orbi systems. For over 400 Fr.- it would be too expensive for me, I got it at the BF for 270...
