TP-Link Deco BE85 Wi-Fi 7 Mesh 19000mbit speed (2-pack)
I have a 10/10 Gbps fibre connection via EWZ, with a ZyXEL AX7501-B0 modem. I set the modem to bridge mode with VLAN 10 and set the Deco BE85 to DHCP mode. Once the Deco was switched on, it took several minutes to get the IP address (more than 10 minutes). If this happens to you too: disable wifi on the Zyxel! Otherwise the DECO will lose the IP address if the modem is set to bridge mode.
After that the setup went very well. The second DECO is located quite far away from the first one, but the connection is more than sufficient (over 1Gbps in rooms where I previously had barely 100Mbps).
The Deco app is comprehensive and allows you to set all network parameters (including NAT and other advanced parameters like QoS). Strangely, the web interface is incredibly bare (you can basically only see the connected clients and do little else).

Great devices while they work.
Had to replace 3 of these in 12 months (Galaxus support were amazing) as the connection kept dropping / freezing. I previously had the BE65's in the same place in my apartment and these worked like a charm.
I have read online other user issues with the BE85's. They work better if you can connect the 2 devices together via the provided network cable, not wireless between both BE85's. Then connect your wireless laptops, PC's, tablets, phones etc. wirelessly as normal.
If you set-up in Access Point (AP) Mode, don't forget to disable any wireless on your broadband router.
If you are planning just the one / single BE85, this should work better for you (from a reliability perspective), with a network cable to your router.

Actually a cool device with good wifi performance. It was very easy to install. Unfortunately, it requires the TP-Link app and an account, as you can hardly set anything via the web console. I found the integrated SFP+ interface to connect a fibre optic very positive, which worked really well for me with the init7 optic.
However, I was very disappointed that the system does not support local name resolution. Here you would have to make do with e.g. Pi-hole and use this as DNS (configurable in Deco). However, as the DHCP server cannot be switched off in router mode, there is no way to automatically and conveniently resolve dynamically assigned IPs via a Pi-hole solution. With the Deco, there is no other option than to assign fixed IPs and enter the names in PiHole. I would therefore advise against using this set in conjunction with PiHole. I think it's a scandal for the price of the device - much cheaper routers can do this! I also had to restart everything every two days as the Internet connection became unusable at some point. I also couldn't figure out how to control the router via app without a TP-Link Cloud account. So another minus for the account requirement!
As a demanding person, I was very disappointed with the device and have returned it.

Compared to other devices you get little control over the system. This works out to make it simple to setup, but can make other things hard to do.
VPN only work for limited arrangements (no key based setup).
The set up the system you need install a dedicated app. No other router before needed this, a regular web browser used to be just fine. I'm also unhappy with the app requirements, they are too broad.
In terms of speed I was able to get 1,5 Gbps over WiFi on a few devices at the same time. This is a lot better that my previous WiFi, but don't expect to see 20Gbps on your phone or laptop.

Excellent wifi mesh solution. Covers two floors and the garden. Easily supports 500 Mb/s. Prepared for fibre optics at much higher speeds. Replaces models 5 and 6.
