The DS214 was quickly installed and went into operation without any problems.
I had a Synology DS207 NAS that was in operation for years without any problems and only after 7 years slowly got a problem with the ventilation.
The settings could be saved and restored on the DS214 (e.g. users & groups)! And the transfer of data via backup from NAS to NAS was simple and fast.
That's what you call user-friendliness!
I can recommend the device for purchase without any restrictions.Pro

As a NAS newbie, I wanted a straightforward and intuitive NAS that was easy to set up and yet secure to install. With the Synology DS214, my expectations have been exceeded.
I also appreciate the many video tutorials about this device on YouTube & Co. I can recommend this device with the best of knowledge and conscience!Pro

Basically great product, compared to ...
Basically a great product, but compared to the professional systems, it has a rather cheap finish. When a DS214 stands next to a DS1512, the DS214 feels like a toy. The external power supply was almost my biggest annoyance - it is integrated in the big brothers. In itself, however, a great product with well thought-out and up-to-date software and user-friendly operation.
