SumUp Air
Perhaps a few more details about the process, use and registration with SumUp.
First you buy the reader. Then you create a user account at SumUp and specify the desired account. SumUp then checks the data and requests some documents for verification. As a legal entity, i.e. AG or GmbH, the following documents are required:
- Extract from the commercial register
- Copy of passport or ID of a person listed in the commercial register extract
- Copy of a bank document (e.g. bank statement > amounts may be blacked out) showing the company name or name of a sole proprietorship.
- Copy of an official bill (e.g. electricity or water bill from the municipality/city > amounts may be blacked out)
- Possibly a copy of the mobile phone bill so that the name and mobile phone number can be checked (this is not necessary for business subscriptions where the billing address is for a company (e.g. Digitec AG).
After that you can start. You can create multiple employee accounts. If my account is named Digitec AG, you can create several employees within Digitec. They will then have their own login for the SumUp Reader. This means that each employee can log in with their own device (mobile phone, tablet). However, you can also buy a separate iPad, which is only used for SumUp.
Receipts can be sent by email or SMS. On the SumUp app, a description can be entered > e.g. handbag. To print receipts it needs a special receipt printer, which Digitec can not offer. This costs 269.- at SumUp directly.

Actually, it started quite well. Great machine. Good to know you can accept credit cards.
But if the device is longer around it discharges the battery and nothing works.
System error BPK!
According to support, the device is automatically locked if the device is not charged for a long time or the device was dropped.
Yes of course I throw the device every day to test on the floor and look forward to the system error message until the finally displayed and celebrate this then.
Support can't recover it either.
You should throw away the device and buy a new one.
Super statement of the support, this statement is fully serious.
Now also no email answer of my inquiry.
Support is pretty bad, to miserable. The customer is simply left hanging.
My opinion I think the support has already no desire to repair a device for the new price 38.-. Why do they say that or do they not write that in the manual that you always have to make sure that the device is always charged.
SumUp your advertising slogan does not fit the support....
If I would buy a device again.... I think not and advise it to anyone who does not always have the device on the power.
Kind regards from exSumUp Air owner with system error BPK!

My SumUp Air Terminal has suddenly and unexpectedly given up the ghost, an error message is presented after loading. The support told me that the device was deactivated for "security reasons", this is the case if you have not loaded it for a long time, for example. You can not undo this lock, the device goes into the trash and you have to buy a new one. Free replacement only in the first 12 months. I call that bad service and environmentally friendly is not!
For 35.- the device is perfectly OK.
Transaction fees 1.5%, for credit cards 2.5%.
The connection speed between the smartphone and the device (via Bluetooth) is a bit "sluggish", but it works. The control via app also works without problems.
Entering the numbers on the device is a bit "fiddly" as they are not real buttons, the pressure point is missing / practically not noticeable.
There is a bigger (and more expensive) brother that has better buttons (apparently). But as mentioned, for 35.- I think the device is perfectly fine.
