ASUS RP-AX58
ASUS RP-AX58
I use the RP AX 58 in my remote kitchen as a wired access point. Roaming works perfectly and speed is excellent. It employees perfectly in a network with a total of 8 nodes. An AX-58U is used as the main router.

I have all network components from Asus. Nevertheless, the repeater keeps losing contact.

I did not expect this from ASUS. I wanted to replace my TP-Link (manufacturer from China) access point with the ASUS device (manufacturer from Taiwan). Normally quite simple: plug in the Ethernet cable, plug it into the socket, call up the IP address with a web browser and set it up.
However, this is different with this ASUS. First of all, you need a special app from ASUS, which is annoying for advanced users. The only annoying thing is that the app then refuses to carry out the configuration (see screenshot). After several attempts and restarts of both the router and the iPhone, I gave up. The device was routinised - my first case of this kind.
Internet via the access point worked straight away with the Ethernet cable plugged in, but without any settings (password, SSID name, etc.) this makes no sense. Although a web interface is documented on the ASUS website, there was no access option in my case.
Furthermore, "Made in China" is printed on the device, while Digitec states Taiwan as the country of origin. Although ASUS is a Taiwanese manufacturer, some devices are produced in China. Not entirely harmless when it comes to network technology.
