Not recommended as a repeater
The product is falsely advertised: It may be good and fast as a bridge, but it is unsuitable as a repeater - and that is the purpose for which I bought it.

If you need a good access point for 5G WLAN, the ASUS EA-AC87 is highly recommended. Thanks to the LED display that can be switched off, it is also very discreet (no LED flickering).
I am thrilled with the ASUS EA-AC87 I purchased today. I use the ASUS EA-AC87 instead of the Swisscom router for the 5G range (in the Swisscom router only 2.4G is still active for older devices).
The ASUS EA-AC87 is connected to the Swisscom router via Switchbox and my 1GB home LAN.
According to the short instructions, I started the ASUS setup in my browser (latest Firefox), changed the password and SSID and entered the key. The access point worked straight away, installation took less than 5 minutes. That's how it should be, and all under Windows 10 Pro! That's fun.Pro

Look at other products!
The promised range is a disappointment. Even the much-maligned Internet Box of the Swiss telco is much better! The connection has strange dropouts. The firmware has never been changed. So after the purchase, the customer is no longer a customer. I would not buy the device again.
