Rademacher DuoFern sun sensor

The DuoFern Sun Sensor is a wireless sensor designed to control visual and sun protection, allowing brightness-dependent control of up to 5 DuoFern devices. When combined with the SmartHome Box, it also functions as a 2-in-1 sensor, serving as a vibration sensor. This means it can detect vibrations, for example, during a break-in attempt. The sensor is mounted on the window glass using the suction cup located on its back and features a modern, compact, and slim design (35x74x21.4 mm).

It includes control buttons for Up/Stop and Down/Stop on the sensor, enabling manual operation of the registered DuoFern devices. A particularly convenient feature is that the integrated position sensor automatically detects the mounting situation (horizontal or vertical) and assigns the control buttons and LED scale accordingly. A multi-colored menu LED sequentially displays the menu items for sun, vibration, and DuoFern. Here, you can use the practical LED scale to set the appropriate brightness and vibration threshold values.

When a selectable and individually set threshold is exceeded, the sensor sends a wireless command to all registered receivers. For instance, the roller shutters can be lowered to the set sun position. When integrating the DuoFern Sun Sensor with the SmartHome Box, both measurement values can be used as events for triggers. In strong sunlight, for example, all roller shutters on the south side of your house can close, or when a vibration is detected, the SmartHome Box sends a push notification to a smartphone. The operation of the sun sensor is powered by a common battery (Type: CR2450) with a lifespan of approximately 4 years.
