The cam first needs an SD memory card (e.g. this https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/sandisk-extremepro-microsd-a1-microsdhc-32gb-u3-uhs-i-speicherkarte-6613018). Then you connect the cam to the Wi-Fi and can view the recordings via the app. If you also have a network storage device, you can transfer the recordings there and save the videos over a longer period of time.

According to the response from the provider, the camera is ideal for viewing live images on a non-home Wi-Fi network. All you have to do is integrate it into the 'Mi-Home' application. This means that the surveillance camera must be integrated into the 'Mi-Home' app, which is available for download from the Play store/ App store.

As far as I know, and I have also tried something similar, the camera only works via the xiaomi home app, i.e. you control the settings there and see the image in real time if necessary. Not suitable as a webcam.

Yes, it works via the app "My Xiomi Home". The camera is ok for 'real time monitoring', not so much for 'recording events' (only 8 sec., unclear picture). My opinion, maybe I have not (yet) understood/set up everything correctly.

Correct, also works with a wifi hotspot. As long as the hotspot is available, the cam is also accessible. But I can't say whether both are possible with the same mobile phone. But I think so. If a separate device is used as a hotspot, then certainly. As soon as the hotspot is available again, the cam connects directly to the hotspot. So it is reachable again. Kind regards TBR

The same thing happened to me: I did a firmware update and then nothing could be done with the camera. Even a hard reset several times did nothing. And during the firmware update, the camera was connected and there were no power or Wi-Fi interruptions. Thanks to your question, I found out that I had bought the camera at Digitec. I wanted to return the camera, but I couldn't find the receipt because I thought I had bought it directly from the Mi-Store. But now I know that I have the receipt online.

Yes, should be possible. See https://www2.yitechnology.com/yi-home-pc... . You may have to select a different location (China, Taiwan), but I haven't tried it myself yet. But next time ask Ms Google, she knows everything! I haven't done it any other way ;-) Have fun testing ...

Sali, I think with google home you always have to link the account. In this case, create a Mi Xiamo account and then link it in GH. But then you can only stream to a Chromecast device.

A USB cable is included, but without a power supply unit. Yes, the camera can be used 24/7, as either "always record" or "only on motion" can be selected. Storage is on the one hand on a micro SD and on the other hand a NAS can also be specified.
