9 metres can be achieved in a completely dry and dust-free interior, provided that the minimum distance of 60 cm to adjacent walls/ceilings is maintained. Ubiquity has managed to position the IR LED ~behind~ the plastic dome. So as soon as there are raindrops, moisture or dust on the dome, the view in practice is more likely to be 0. Since the night vision mode uses a mechanical filter as a setting, the external installation of a separate IR spotlight unfortunately does not help either - the camera is IR-blind in day mode. It's actually a great camera, but the night vision mode is unusable, which is why I stuck with a dome...
In Unifi Protect, you can activate a live stream that you can tap into. I don't see any way to write directly from the camera to an external disc.
