4 x 8 TB, Seagate Ironwolf
Synology DS920+
4 x 8 TB, Seagate Ironwolf
So, if the Syno has no power at all, then there can be problems (data loss, no booting, etc...)... As a UPS, I have posted this one, which goes a long way: APC Back-UPS Pro (900 VA, 540 W, line-interactive (protection class 5)). You can also connect it to the syno via USB, then the syno will automatically shut down when the limits are reached... And if necessary, a smaller one will also do... Have fun and LG
Yes, this works perfectly, the NAS is simply connected to the Gigabit Ethernet port of the Swisscom Internet Box using the LAN cable supplied. After starting the NAS, you can then set it up and use it with the help of the Synology Assistant programme (download from Synology).

Synology NAS cannot be connected together to expand the storage size. However, there is the DX517 expansion module that can be used to expand a DS920+ or DS918+ solution so that the disks in the Dx517 can be used to expand the existing NAS. Synology DX517 Expansion Unit
Different RAID formats are supported. The best setting is Synology Hybrid RAID. This is an optimised variant of RAID5. All RAID variants are software RAID.
yes, the ST4000VN008 are installed. So not the Ironwolf Pro. I have migrated two Synology. Runs flawlessly.
Buy the products separately and you will save CHF 70.-. This bundle does not offer any advantages over the individually purchased products.
Hoi - "Better" is quite subjective - that is, what is better for one person is unimportant for another. Here is a comparative test from Golem: https://www.golem.de/news/seagate-ironwolf-und-wd-red-plus-im-test-die-richtige-festplatte-fuers-nas-finden-2105-156360.html I hope it helps you to make a decision, wish you happy holidays and LG

Hardbundle: The hard disks are already inserted in the NAS. Soft bundle: The hard disks from the order offer are simply enclosed with the NAS and you have to assemble it yourself.
This product does make noise when it is in operation. We can't give you an exact answer because it depends on what you consider to be noisy.
According to the manufacturer, SMR hard disks are installed.
I had 4 x 4TB WD Red Plus(WD40EFRX, CMR) installed.
1. it says 4x4TB and 4GB RAM. 2. hard disks may already be installed in the bundle. If not, it's easy, just remove the frame, fix the hard drive with 4 screws and slide it in. 3. M.2 slots have nothing to do with RAM and are both free. They description for SSD cache. 4. https://www.synology.com/en-us/products/DDR4 -> D4NESO-2666-4G -> DDR4 SODIMM 2666 5. no the operating system is installed, just connect to the network and set up via web interface or Synology application.
The title has probably been adjusted in the meantime. These are WD Red Plus hard drives.
They are absolutely fine for NAS HDDs: https://www.storagereview.com/review/seagate-ironwolf-14tb-nas-hdd-review Here is a detailed report.
I think the IRON Wolf are normal SATA disks. But they have CMR technology! Only if I fill up a NAS with 4 HDDs with 4 TB, I don't have 16 TB but only 12 TB of useful capacity!
with exactly this one it is 1 x 1tb
The product comes with 4x WD40EFRX drives installed. These drives work with SMR technology.
...right, 4x8TB non GB disks are in there, with RAID0 that's 28800 TB formatted, the bays are clearly lockable and a lot of things are not right at Digitec Galaxus, the descriptions, the specifications or is incomplete and the warranty is also not always right. Price errors are also possible. That's just the way it is and maybe it will change this year or next year.
It says 16 Tb storage, with 4 disks that should probably be 4 Tb / disk. Would also fit the price
