Yes, Blu-Ray regions A/B/C and DVD regions 1-6. Cool device, by the way. It runs with my 8000 Samsung and Denon receiver. Have fun with it
there are now many films, yes! but they are also more expensive than normal bluerays ...
You can check out the assortment at www.wog.ch, for example!
and yes, it also plays normal films and even DVDs and supports upscaling up to 4k (all this is described in the specifications)...
because the player can of course also be used with "normal TVs" (FullHD), then you won't gain anything with a 4k player ...
so if you have a FullHD TV, this purchase is definitely not worth it !

I'm having exactly the same problems....I've already taken it in for repair and got it back in the same condition,I've locked it wrong???
Yesterday evening the same thing happened again....the sony signet appears...the bluray rotates.... but stays on and the TV screen remains black????

No, unfortunately not. I have tested it and the player does not play Region 1 DVDs. It complains about the wrong region.

Yes, of course the TV must also be able to handle 3d, otherwise it won't work ;-)

The Spiderman film is included. But only a UHD disc, no additional Blu-Ray as usual in the trade.

No, as I have seen, it does not work. I hadn't tried it yet because I have Google Play Store on the TV. Otherwise, it's a very good DVD player.

We have no idea, especially since, according to the Sony support, it should work. We would've guessed that it doesn't support HDR and that's the issue.

Region B Blue Ray and 2 DVD like most players. You can find region free kits for various players on the Internet. For example, there are some for the Oppo UDP-203.
