I am looking for a code free DVD (or BlueRay) player. Having read quite a few questions/answers, one of your contributions indicated that Digitec did not sell code free DVDs. However, for this model, you reply to milenko.tokic that DVDs from regions 1,2,3 etc can be played. What exactly is the situation? Being on AVS (limited budget), are there other (cheaper) models that are sold by Digitec with a DVD code free (not BlueRay)?

There are models that can be converted or bought with a conversion kit, I don't know which ones are offered by Digitec, but the company Highdefinition offers various Blu-ray players that can at least play DVDs without code. There are also models starting at about 150 francs and the conversion to Codefree then costs another 150 francs.
