I don't know either. But I am convinced that the high price is a "clerical error" or a "marketing gag". Even at Solis, the hairdryer doesn't cost that much. Difference: the more expensive one is the hotel version with spiral cord.

I think adding this information for each product would be enormously time-consuming. Most products come from the Far East anyway.
With this hairdryer, however, it's different. It is Swiss Made, which means it is made in Switzerland. (At least as far as the assembly is concerned).
This was not very difficult to find out.
1. if you visit Solis.ch you will find it in about 30 seconds!
2. it's even written BIG on the hairdryer!
By the way, the hairdryer is great. We have been using it for several years now and it has never let us down.

I bought the cheaper one for my wife, daily use and everything is good. One difference with the more expensive one could be the cable, which can be extended (see product picture). The question is whether this is worth almost CHF 60. If you regularly untwist the cable on the simpler one, it works fine.

I did a little research. The Solis site only says:

What I found out:
968.51 = Black, 1.8 m cable.
968.52 = Black. 2.8 m cable
968.55 = purple, 1.8 m cable
The other ???? I can't see the real difference between the 968.50 and 968.51, except that the 968.50 is a bit cheaper. I assume that it does not have something that the 968.51 has.
Anyway, we (or rather my wife :-)) have been using the 968.51 almost every day for about 3 years. My wife is very satisfied with it.
