The rear speakers are recharged by mains connection to an electrical socket, not by battery. They are wireless compared to the soundbar, but require a plugged-in power cord to operate and recharge.
Hi Tommy
I can't really answer your question. From my point of view and from my practical experience, the Samsung HW-Q990F soundbar develops the best result when it can interact automatically with the TV. The whole thing is harmonised. I have a Samsung Q-TV and the Samsung HW-Q990F soundbar. It really is a perfect "cinema experience" at home. I can't say whether an Epson projector and Apple TV will do the same. My goal was a perfect integration of TV and soundbar, which Samsung has achieved with its Q-Line. From that point of view, I'm more than satisfied. I hope so. You find the right answer to your question.
So long, P
The Samsung HW-Q990F and Samsung HW-Q995F are essentially technically equivalent in practice. The differences are mainly in the regional labelling or configuration/software bundles, not in the core sound or hardware performance.
Ideally, the soundbar is connected to the TV via HDMI (eARC/ARC) or optical cable. For a completely wireless connection between the TV and soundbar, you can use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth so that only the soundbar and the four speakers (subwoofer and rear speakers) each need to be supplied with power cables. The rear speakers and subwoofer connect wirelessly to the soundbar, so no additional audio cables are required for these speakers. Only the soundbar itself requires a connection to the TV, either wired (HDMI/optical) or wireless (WLAN/Bluetooth).
The system only supports one subwoofer, which is already included in the scope of delivery. It is not possible to add a second subwoofer. The system is also designed with the wireless rear speakers; it is not intended or possible to add two additional front speakers. The speaker configuration is fixed to 11.1.4 channels with a subwoofer and rear speakers.
I couldn't find any speakers that can be integrated via the SmartThings system. However, you can also integrate the soundbar into the free Google Home system and then use all speakers that support this system. All you have to do is download the Google Home app.
A great speaker would be the Sony SRS-RA3000
