I use an ordinary TV instead of the beamer and use the optical connections and it works perfectly. However, I don't know if this is also the case with the beamer and ps4.
The boxes do not need to be connected to the power supply.... the cables are more than long enough.... and the quality is really great

Yes, they are tower speakers and you can also play good old DVDs. You can also play Blu-ray discs, which have better quality and resolution.
The unit has one (1) HDMI output and one (1) optical audio input (TOSLINK). It's all in the specifications. A link to the manual: http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content...

I don't think an optical cable comes with it but if your TV knows HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) you don't even need it.
