The vacuum cleaner can overcome door thresholds up to a height of 2 cm. With sharp edges of exactly 2 cm, it can be tight, and it then reliably manages around 1.9 cm; with rounded edges, slightly higher thresholds are also possible. It cannot overcome higher thresholds of 3 cm or more.

The difference between the Roborock S8 model and a variant with a large docking station (e.g. Ultra-Dock) lies mainly in the automatic functions of the docking station and the associated convenience. Differences and advantages and disadvantages: - Automatic dust emptying: models with a large docking station (Ultra-Dock) automatically empty the dust container after each cleaning, which greatly reduces the amount of maintenance required. Although the standard model also has automatic emptying, the Ultra-Dock usually offers a larger capacity and longer intervals without manual emptying. - Automatic mop washing and drying: The large docking station can clean and dry the mop itself, which is not possible or only possible to a limited extent with the standard model. This increases hygiene and saves time. - Automatic tank refilling: Some large docking stations refill the water tank automatically, which is not possible with smaller stations. - Size and space requirements: The large docking station is significantly larger (e.g. approx. 43 x 51 x 45 cm) and requires more floor space than the standard charging station. - Price: Models with a large docking station are generally more expensive, but offer more automation and convenience. - The suction power, navigation and robot functions remain similar for both variants, the main difference lies in the extended functions of the docking station. To summarise, the large docking station offers more automation (dust emptying, mop cleaning, tank filling) and therefore less manual maintenance, but requires more space and is more expensive. The standard model is more compact and less expensive, but requires more manual intervention during cleaning and maintenance.

Good day Charging station is included. As I have never wet cleaned, replacing the pads is a secondary consideration. Replacing the filter and the rotating brush may be more important. With my Roborock S7, I bought a spare parts pack once in 2.5 years for 50. I am currently learning the S8 (new plan) and am delighted with the Roborock product, whether S7 or now S8. Highly recommended.

As I didn't feel like connecting it to the WiFi, I only use it via the 3 buttons. That way I didn't have to explain our rooms, which are divided by thresholds and stairs, to him. It works dry/wet and includes spot cleaning at the touch of a button.

We have the robot in three households (2 private, one company) and are very satisfied. The app is easy to use, mapping is just as simple and it is very intelligent. Only if the door frame is too high (2cm) is it difficult to get over. But I would buy it again at any time and can absolutely recommend it.

The charging station is not higher and has the same height. If you want to place the charging station under a piece of furniture, I would recommend allowing a reserve of approx. 1 cm so that you have enough height reserve when driving onto the charging station.

S8 only includes the charging station. A suction station can NOT be purchased at a later date (incompatible). The S8+ includes the suction station. S8 Pro Ultra comes with a cleaning station.

Yes, you can create different plans. However, you have to place the S8 on the desired floor and select the corresponding plan. Since it can then no longer find the charging station, it returns to the starting point. A great device, cleans well and cleanly.
