Has anyone bought this in order to install an SSD as storage for Plex (not cache, storage)? Any difference in performance?

I have not yet tested it myself, but according to the manufacturer's information manufacturer's page link it can also be used as storage for Plex media servers. For more detailed information and advice, I recommend contacting our customer service directly: Contact us

Just looking, these SX8200Pro (item 10127209) have an M.2 M Key interface which wouldn't fit either. Which article number did you use for the SX8200Pro?

Attention: I had installed this card "QNAP QM2-4P-384" in my QNAP VTS-873e with 4 WD Blue 3D NAND (item 6408463) which were not accepted by the system when they were installed in the card. It shows that the card is in the system but no SSDs are installed. I suspect that the interface "M.2 B&M Key" on WD Blue 3D NAND (item 6408463) is not compatible with the interface required by the card. The WD Blue 3D NAND will work when installed directly in the two QNAP VTS-873e slots but NOT when installed in the card. The disadvantage of this configuration is that the chips get too hot despite good heat sinks and the CPU fan has to be manually set to maximum to keep the temperature below 50 °C. Question: Does anyone know which SSD chips fit this card or what it depends on? and which ones are available at digitec ?

Hello Wernergers, yes, it doesn't work with the WD Blue 3D NAND, you have to buy SSDs with NVME interface and PCI3 or 4. I myself use the card with 2x ADATA SX8200Pro - they run great.
