Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not mention anything about AVI format via usb.
Therefore, this should not be possible.

As it looks in the product picture, the power cable is permanently installed. According to the instructions, the following accessories are included:
-Audio/ Video cable (Composite Video)
-Remote control
-Batteries for remote control
You do realise that this player only has AV Scart and Composite Video connections? If you need an HDMI connection, you would have to opt for the Panasonic S700, which is even cheaper.
