Yes, it is. The fact that there is nothing in the scope of delivery does not automatically mean that it is not included. Only that there is nothing ;). I have supplemented the scope of delivery accordingly.
Unfortunately, we do not have any information on this at the moment. As soon as there will be a sales launch in Switzerland, we will try to include the product in our range.
The Shield does not have a TV tuner - so you can only watch streaming via it, but everything should work there.
It has one HDMI out port. It is not intended for connecting other devices to it (it is only approx. 10x20x3cm in size).
Nope, according to the Google Play Store, I can't install it on the Shield. Maybe I can install it manually, but it will probably have display/conditional problems (no touch).
Hello, the Shield connects easily to a bluetooth headset (tested), so I assume a bluetooth speaker as well. There is no jack on either the case or the remote.
Otherwise you can connect a jack cable from the projector to the sound system but it's a round trip. Either way, it's a great device.
Netflix certainly doesn't, as far as I know only non DRM content works. Kodi works quite well with huestacan or huestream.
Have a look at the videos, usually there are also tutorials. Otherwise, check the German Kodiforum (Kodinerds), they have a whole section just for the Shield.
As I have just read on the English forum, this should work.
If you are looking for a device that "eats" everything, you are right with the Nvidia and the Kodi app...
Kind regards

You can install some, yes but it's not the best solution. If you think about the site I think you can use the chromecast function (from chrome browser) and it works better ;-)
If the Android app can do all that, I see no problem using it on an Android-based device. Unfortunately, I don't have a Zattoo subscription and can't test it. Netflix and Plex work flawlessly and smoothly with 4k.
Unfortunately, we do not have any information about the delivery date at the moment. As soon as we know more details, this will be adjusted/declared accordingly.
Hello, how should I start. It is important to know that the device recognises the TV's native remote control (at least with my 7.5 year old Samsung smart TV). So you don't really need the remote control that comes with it. This makes it easier to use! So if you watch zattoo, netflix etc and turn off the TV without using the back button on the remote to exit the app, the Shield will automatically start in the last used app when you turn on the TV. I'm 100% sure with netflix, 80% with other apps, because I don't use them that often. But it should be the same with every other app.
I can test this at some point and add it to the list.
Nice to know:
- The Shield is also available without a gamepad for about 50 less. (For older "non-gamers")
- The Zattoo subscription is limited to 30 hours per month in the free version. Above that, you have to pay.
I hope I was able to help.
The games do not have to be downloaded. You log in to Steam or Uplay (other providers are also supported) on the Shield, for example, then the game is streamed (platform called geforce now). Works tiptop. Nvidia has a decent server farm that can handle 4K with 60 FPS and the highest details. I don't notice any lag either. You can play with mouse and keyboard or with the controller. Many games are supported (https://www.nvidia.com/de-de/geforce/products/geforce-now/supported-games/). You just need a fast internet connection. Alternatively, you can stream the games from your PC to the shield. I'm extremely satisfied with it as an occasional gamer, and I practically don't need my desktop for gaming any more.
Hello all
I would like to buy this device to play mkv files from a hard drive in addition to streaming Netflix and Youtube content.
The reason for this is that my Samsung Q6FN TV, which I also bought here, unfortunately cannot play files that use a DTS soundtrack.
Therefore, I would like to connect this device directly to my AV receiver in order to supply it with the sound track of the Nvidia Shield.
However, like my Samsung TV, the specifications of the device only state Dolby Digital passthrough capability, hence my question:
Can this device also output DTS soundtracks via passthrough or not?
Kind regards
Without a PC, GameStream only works via Nvidia's GeForce NOW platform, which is chargeable. I personally have never tried it. There are also games from the Google Play Store that are compatible with the Shield. (There are some fun games, including multiplayer). But it gets interesting when you connect your local gamer PC to GameStream. Then games can be started from Steam and streamed via the Shield. Conclusion: Enjoy the advantages of the console with PC graphics... Without a gamer PC, it doesn't make much sense or will be expensive, so it's better to go for a PS4.
