Could it be that the ALG mode is not working properly? The calculator calculates strictly from "left to right"... Dot before dash is completely ignored.

My (layman's) perception has always been that pocket calculators cannot implement "dot before dash", since the input of the calculation steps is sequential, so the calculator does not "know" that a multiplication could follow an addition; in any case, I have always ensured by bracketing that the calculator observes "dot before dash" ... But I'm sure there are specialists who can explain this more systematically (and the manual ...)
