The eTrex30x is a revised version of the eTrex 30 with a higher resolution, larger internal memory and therefore more space for map material. The functionalities have also been revised.

No, there is no map preinstalled. However, you can install an Open Street Map. These are free and, in my opinion, just as useful. (For example, here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/)
