In the meantime, I have found out for myself what is needed. A 5V power supply with 500mA is sufficient to operate the fiio bta 30 or the pro version. A 5V power supply with 1A also works, of course, as the device only needs 500mA.

My aim now is to go from the TV to the FiiO via the Toslink input and then from there either via Bluetooth to my headphones (Bose QuietComfort 35 II) or alternatively via the Toslink output to my Sonos Playbar. So I have the option of either having the sound from the TV via the Sonos or via the headphones (if everyone else is asleep). Can I do this with this device? How does the pairing with the Bose work, I don't see a display on the device? According to your question, you connect the Toslink output of the BTA 30Pro to a Toslink input of the amplifier.
If you want to use the BTA30 Pro without a USB DAC, you need a 5 volt power supply.
I use the iFi Audio iPower MK2 with 5 volts, costs about 75 Fr. today at K55.
But it's worth it for interference-free mains.
