Can the LED light be switched off? Does it make cooler air than a normal fan?

You can turn it off and on by holding down the power button. And it cools more than a fan, where the fan blows air, which when it is very hot does not help, this one cools the air in front of it. It is therefore much more effective than a fan.

approx. 8W, and I recommend the unit. The air flow is sufficient for me and the enriched air with water is pleasant.

How can I switch on the LEDs in the water tank?

Press and hold the power button for a few seconds, then the LED switches on and off again.

Is the maximum room size of 3 cubic metres correct? I still have to build partition walls in my small home office.

Approximately. The unit does not normally cool a room per se. It works more like a fan with a cooling function. Coolness is simply felt in the area in front of the unit. And in that respect it works perfectly - by evaporating the water that is added. You just have to refill it again and again.
