Unfortunately, I have only had bad experiences with this product. Installation was very time-consuming and in the end I had to seal everything with adhesive tape.....have now disposed of it and used a plexiglass pane as an insert in the window frame. All I had to do was cut it to size and cut a hole in it for the exhaust hose. You can google instructions for this. Good luck!

In my opinion, for no window at all. I couldn't mount the thing anywhere even halfway sensibly. So I can't imagine that any "Swiss" window designs were taken into account during development. I strongly advise you not to buy this. I now only use the "normal" cover cloths (https://www.galaxus.ch/de/s2/product/sonnenkoenig-fensterkit-klimaanlage-zubehoer-5795740), which are not perfect but at least somewhat more useful. My next step will be to have a window duct installed by a glazier or carpenter, plug in the hose and that's it.

It is a simple plastic hose. The heat depends on the air conditioner, the tube does not generate any heat ;) You certainly won't burn yourself on it. However, it has a grey fabric cover to prevent the heat from escaping into the room. That is actually the only insulation you have.
