Questions about Creative BT-W5

The Creative BT-W5 (transmitter & receiver) is basically designed for high-quality Bluetooth audio transmission with profiles such as A2DP, aptX, AVRCP, HFP and SBC, which also enables the use of hands-free functions. As Microsoft Teams Calls run via the HFP profile (Hands-Free Profile), the adapter technically supports this functionality. This means you can use your AirPods Pro on a Windows PC for Microsoft Teams Calls with this adapter. However, it should be noted that the quality and stability of the voice transmission also depends on the implementation on the PC and the compatibility of the AirPods Pro. The adapter offers Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX Adaptive and low-latency mode, which ensures good audio quality, even during calls. In short: Yes, the adapter is suitable for making Microsoft Teams calls with AirPods Pro on a Windows PC, as it supports the necessary Bluetooth profiles for audio and hands-free calling.

The adapter cannot transmit directly from your smartphone to your car via Bluetooth as it acts as a transmitter and receiver and is usually connected to devices such as PCs or consoles. Your car has a USB port, but it seems that it does not communicate directly with Bluetooth devices that do not have a specific USB Bluetooth adapter. If your car supports Bluetooth, a different adapter or solution may be required to stream music from your smartphone.

The Creative BT-W5 dongle is compatible with the PlayStation 5 (PS5). You can plug the dongle into the USB-C port of your PS5 and then in the settings under "Sound" make sure that "USB Headset (Creative BT-W5)" is selected. This allows you to connect your AirPods or other Bluetooth headphones to the PS5 and benefit from the improved Bluetooth audio quality and lower latency of the BT-W5.

That's why I bought the BT-W5. To be able to use my favourite headphones with the Series X without delay. But unfortunately that doesn't work. Either I'm too stupid for it or it just doesn't work. I have not yet received a reply to my enquiry to the manufacturer. If you find a solution, please let me know ... that's why I prefer to game on my PC again ...
