My Brother P-touch H110 has no backlight. Maybe you can hold the device at an angle of ~90 degrees to your eyes for better LCD readability or, if you are sitting at a table, place the device on top or something like that.

Is the writing ribbon already included with this device or do you have to order it separately? Are the ribbons lamminated, so can they be exposed to water, e.g. by sticking them to vials? Would the machine be ready to use as soon as I bought it? Kind regards

The TZe-231S is a laminated Std writing tape that is particularly suitable for smooth and flat surfaces. Thanks to its lamination, the writing tape is smudge, weather and scratch resistant. Writing tape cassette, 12mm wide, 4m long, black on white. It is included in the delivery and the machine is therefore pretty much ready to use when you receive it :-)

A "cartridge" is included with the item. If you want to use the label printer without a mains adapter (which is included), you will need 6 AAA batteries. Then you can start labelling ;-)
