The manufacturer only specifies a max. of 8gb. Thanks in advance

Works without problems. I have 16 gb in it myself, but I have the 2666 mhz version from Crucial.

Since there are two RAM slots in the device, another one or two larger components can be used. According to ASUS, a maximum of 16GB (2x 8GB) is possible. The module installed in the device is an SO-DIMM with 260 PIN, type DDR4-2400 (available, for example, from Crucial).
