Thank you very much for your answer. Unfortunately, you only get support on the ASUSTor homepage if someone has a NAS. I have discovered the ASUSTor Backup Plan software for Windows. Unfortunately, I can't test it because it only works with an ASUSTor NAS. Can I schedule backups according to time? So a backup every week? Unfortunately, the help from ASUSTor only works if I have an ASUS NAS. What a pity!

Good day I have a few questions. Can I run an automatic backup here with a programme that I can leave on my PC and which then saves several versions on the NAS? Can I operate the NAS with only one HD and what happens if I then install a second one after some time? Thanks for the answer Merlin77

If your backup programme can make backups to network shares: Yes, you can use that as a backup target! And yes, you can operate it with only 1 disk and then install a second one later. But beware: If one disc goes bad... then it's over with backup and data on it. If you install 2 disks from the beginning, then you can make a Raid 1 (mirror), if one fails, the other one is there. If you do this later, it will still work, until then you just have the risk... LG
