Yes, you can do that. I did it that way with an old TV that isn't even a Smart TV. Simply cool. Plug in the stick, download the app and log in. I can now access everything and the Internet. The prerequisite is, of course, an HDMI connection on the TV.
Hello Carda86
We have three such sticks in our household. All run on our only wifi in the house, flawlessly. Disney+ runs and also Netflix and many other cool services. I can only recommend the stick. Much cheaper than an additional box from the TV/Internet provider.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick Lite also works in Switzerland, provided you have a compatible HD television with an HDMI connection and an internet connection via Wi-Fi. There are no geographical restrictions that would prevent the device from being used in Switzerland.
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection to configure the devices and stream content.
- Note that some streaming services and content may vary by region, but most major streaming platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and more are available in Switzerland.
The Amazon Fire TV Stick Litedoes not natively support screen mirroring from iOS or Android devices in the way you might be looking for, such as wirelessly mirroring the screen of your device.
However, there are a few workarounds and alternatives you can consider:
- Mirroring through certain apps: Some apps, like those that support casting or mirroring, might allow you to share content from your device to the Fire TV Stick Lite. For example, you can use the Fire TV app on your iOS or Android device to control the Fire TV Stick Lite, but this is not true screen mirroring.
- Using other Amazon devices: If you have an Amazon device that supports screen mirroring, such as some Fire TV models (not the Fire TV Stick Lite), you might be able to mirror your screen using those devices.
- Third-party solutions: There are third-party apps and services that can enable screen mirroring, but these may not be officially supported by Amazon and could have varying levels of compatibility and performance.
For true screen mirroring, you might want to consider other streaming devices that explicitly support this feature, such as some Google Chromecast or Apple TV devices.
Wi-Fi connection with SmartTV??
-------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I have a slightly older SAMSUNG TV, but with SmartTV (model UE46ES5700). It is not possible to connect it directly to the WLAN. The recommended Samsung stick is no longer available. Do you think you could use the Fire Stick to connect the TV to the Wi-Fi? I just want to be able to access my usual services with the TV, e.g. Teleboy.... (NB. Have no way to connect directly to the router, it's in the basement for the whole house...). THANKS! Christoph
