QED cables with a cross-section of over 2.5 mm² utilize air core technology to eliminate the skin effect by bundling multiple separately insulated smaller cores together to create a larger cross-section. When these conductors are arranged around a hollow central core made of polyethylene, the self-inductance of the cable can be reduced to about half of the value predicted by calculations.
