The QB 12 is the first Q Acoustics subwoofer to feature a 12-inch driver. The big long-throw driver is powered by an ultra low-distortion 220-watt Class D amplifier for tight, powerful bass response and features a 50mm voice coil for minimal thermal compression. Equally at home with Q Acoustics’ Concept and 3000i range of stereo and center speakers, the QB 12 is designed to be adept at reproducing both big Hollywood action moments and the deep, subtle textures of bass instruments.
From the subtlest nuance to explosive action, 220 watts of Class D power driving a long-throw 12-inch drive unit creates an impressive audio experience. No Hollywood blockbuster soundtrack features explosions too loud, too deep, or too powerful for the QB 12 to handle. However, power is nothing without control, and the QB 12 is just as comfortable conveying the nuances of a double bass or an electronic kick-drum.
The QB 12’s sealed, ‘infinite baffle’ cabinet is cleverly braced to deliver maximum stiffness to its motor system, resulting in minimal influence on deep bass sounds. Mechanical stability equals aural satisfaction.
With a reinforced MDF cabinet featuring a 36mm-thick baffle and a recessed, hidden terminal panel, the QB 12 also includes adjustable spiked feet with rubber caps and a choice of elegant, understated finishes. The QB 12 is simple and easy to position and set up, as invigorating to listen to as it is to install.
