Product details

Pierre Joseph Redouté was a renowned flower painter. His watercolor paintings of roses and lilies are especially famous worldwide. In Paris, he painted over 500 images for a comprehensive royal collection of animal and plant illustrations and was subsequently appointed court painter to the French royal family. Redouté achieved his greatest fame with the beautifully printed three-volume work "Les Roses," which was published starting in 1817. He continued to work as a drawing teacher in Paris until his death. This postcard book features 20 images by the French painter (1759-1840).
