The IEEE 802.3at standard offers a maximum of 25.4 watts of power per PoE port with a voltage of up to 50 volts. The standard assumes that after line losses, 21.90 watts of usable power remain or may be drawn to avoid exceeding the maximum power output. A Cat5e/6 cable with a maximum length of 100 m is recommended for PoE.
