Pattex Mounting adhesive Gluing instead of drilling

Whenever something needs to be repaired in the house or apartment, Pattex adhesive is often the ideal solution instead of drill-mount adhesive. It is easy to use, and the bond holds immediately (after about 10 seconds, it can support approximately 50 kg/m² with full surface adhesion).

Note: One of the two bonding surfaces must be absorbent (porous).

Tips & Tricks:
What is an absorbent surface?

This includes all materials that have a porous or permeable structure or are capable of absorbing liquids or moisture.

To easily test the absorbency of the substrate, spray water onto the intended bonding surface. The faster the substrate absorbs the water, the more absorbent it is.

Cleaning with playing cards:
After the bonding process, fold a playing card and scrape off the excess adhesive along the edges of the bonded object. This is how you easily remove excess adhesive!

How much adhesive is needed?

To achieve the ideal bonding, we recommend using between 200 g and 400 g of Pattex adhesive instead of drilling per square meter.

Easier to apply:
When using a Pattex cartridge, simply cut the cartridge tip at an angle with a knife or pliers. This makes application easier and allows for precise dosing of the adhesive.
