Product details

The Cromwell was developed by the British Army during World War II to replace the outdated Crusader in the role of a cruiser tank. The Cromwell was characterized by its very high speed of over 60 km/h and its great maneuverability. The speed was often limited to avoid excessive strain on the tank's mechanics, particularly its suspension, yet it was still paired with adequate armor and good armament. The main gun, a 75 mm mounted in the turret, was powerful enough for engagements against similarly armored vehicles and could use the same ammunition as other allied tanks like the American Sherman. Additionally, the Cromwell played an effective role in close support of infantry.
