The Ural 4320 is a 6 x 6 all-terrain vehicle manufactured at the automotive plant in the Miass/Ural region. In addition to its 6 x 6 drive, the 4320 features a fail-safe diesel engine and an armored body. Production originally began in 1977 and continues to this day. In Russian military service, the Ural has proven to be a significant asset, being a simple and unpretentious machine that easily crosses ditches and trenches, climbs steep slopes, and overcomes major obstacles in its path. The Ural 4320 has also served as a base for a variety of auxiliary and combat vehicles, including the legendary "Grad" rocket launcher. Its exceptional versatility was demonstrated after the flooding of New Orleans in 2005, where it proved to be highly effective in operating in heavily flooded areas.
