The HMMWV, an acronym for High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, better known as the "Humvee," was developed for the U.S. Army and represents the technological advancement of American expertise in building extremely versatile off-road vehicles, for which the "Willys" remains a symbol to this day. The Humvee was put into production in the 1980s and is characterized by its size and operational flexibility, featuring all-wheel drive and a robust construction that withstands harsh environmental and operational conditions. Several versions were produced, used for troop transport, military logistics, extended reconnaissance, and target acquisition. The M966 Tow Carrier version was equipped with a tow rocket system mounted on the vehicle's roof to enhance the Humvee's offensive capabilities against armored and armed vehicles.
