MOBOTIX has been exclusively manufacturing megapixel cameras for years and is considered a global leader in high-resolution video systems.

The higher the resolution, the better the detail accuracy of the image. In old analog technology, a live image has no more than 0.4 megapixels, and a recorded image typically has 0.1 megapixels (CIF). In contrast, a MOBOTIX camera with 3.1 megapixels captures about 30 times more details. This allows for larger image areas, up to a 360° panoramic view, reducing the number of cameras needed and thus lowering costs. For example, four lanes of a gas station can be recorded with one MOBOTIX camera instead of four conventional cameras.
